Welcome to the Thurston County Rate of Gain Contest!

This Rate of Gain Contest is open to Swine, Steer, Goat, and Lamb exhibitors.

The goal? Determine which exhibitors market animal has the greatest percentage weight gain between June 7th to July 30th.

Initial Weigh-In:
At The Lacey Rotary Duck Dash on June 7th

Haul-in is at 10:00 AM at the Thurston County Fairgrounds

Final Weigh-In:

July 30th (Fair Weigh-In Day)

Winners will be determined by greatest percentage of weight gained between the two dates in each species.

This is a great opportunity to learn about animal growth, nutrition, and record-keeping while adding a little friendly competition to your fair experience. We’re excited to see your hard work pay off — good luck to all our exhibitors!
